Viet Nam investor visas ĐT1–ĐT4 in 2026
Viet Nam has four investor visa symbols based principally on the value and nature of the investment.
Current categories
- ĐT1: investment capital of VND 100 billion or more, or investment in designated preferential sectors or areas.
- ĐT2: VND 50 billion to under VND 100 billion, or investment in designated sectors encouraged for development.
- ĐT3: VND 3 billion to under VND 50 billion.
- ĐT4: below VND 3 billion.
Visa and TRC ceilings
Current law sets maximum visa validity of five years for ĐT1 and ĐT2, three years for ĐT3, and one year for ĐT4. ĐT1–ĐT3 can support temporary residence cards, with maxima of 10 years, five years and three years respectively. ĐT4 is not listed as a TRC category.
No automatic permanent residence
Investment status does not automatically become Vietnamese permanent residence or citizenship. Property ownership, company ownership, tax residence and immigration residence are separate legal layers.
