EU Blue Card for Highly Qualified Workers in Luxembourg — January 2025 snapshot

Luxembourg issues the EU Blue Card to qualifying third-country nationals taking highly qualified salaried employment.

The official Blue Card explanatory material had been updated in June 2024 and was operational for the January 2025 snapshot. The route required a qualifying employment relationship, evidence of high professional qualifications and remuneration meeting the statutory threshold then in force.

The worker must obtain the required authorisation before entry and complete the residence-permit formalities after arrival. Because Blue Card salary and qualification rules can change, this snapshot does not substitute later thresholds for the January 2025 legal position.
