Permanent Residence by Uruguayan Link in 2026
This route is for a foreign national with a qualifying family link to a Uruguayan national.
Current official family links
The current DNM page describes the route for a person linked to a Uruguayan through a child, spouse, registered partner/concubine, or sibling. The applicant must prove the relationship with current civil-status evidence or a registered judicial recognition of the partnership where applicable.
Applicants also provide identity documentation, criminal-record evidence where required and vaccination evidence. Minors have additional birth-certificate and parental-authorisation rules.
Do not confuse this residence route with Family Reunification Visa, which is an entry/reunification mechanism for certain visa-required relatives and does not replace the residence application itself.
