Family Reunification Visa in Uruguay in 2026
Uruguay's family-reunification procedure is an entry and reunification mechanism for certain relatives who require a visa to enter Uruguay. It should not be confused with the residence status ultimately obtained after entry.
Eligible relationships
The current Ministry of Foreign Relations page covers parents, spouses, partners, unmarried children, and adult children with disabilities. The sponsor can be a Uruguayan citizen, legal resident or person with residence in process, subject to the official conditions.
Residence after arrival
The official procedure states that the family member should begin the corresponding residence process within 30 days of entry. The reunification permission therefore does not replace permanent or temporary residence.
