Investor Visa in Sri Lanka in 2026

Sri Lanka's current Investor Visa is a residence program for foreign nationals making qualifying investments under the Department of Immigration and Emigration's published guidelines.

Investment thresholds

The current minimums are USD 100,000 for a five-year visa and USD 200,000 for a ten-year visa. The guidelines require the use of an Inward Investment Account and a Visa Programme Foreign Currency Account, with investment into permitted categories.

Permitted categories include qualifying voting shares, an overseas company place of business, certain government or Central Bank debt securities, term deposits and immovable property subject to other Sri Lankan laws and sector restrictions.

Family and fees

The published program covers the main applicant, spouse and dependants. The official guideline lists USD 200 per year for the main applicant, spouse and each dependant.

This program is distinct from the Golden Paradise Residence Visa and the Colombo Port City visa framework. Investment does not automatically create permanent residence.
