Intra-Company Transfer Work Visa in South Africa in 2026
The Intra-Company Transfer Work Visa is a separate route for multinational businesses transferring an existing foreign employee to a South African branch, subsidiary or affiliate.
Transfer relationship
The route is designed for a genuine intra-company movement rather than recruitment into a new unrelated South African job. Applicants must document the foreign and South African entities, the employment relationship and the transfer assignment under the Immigration Act and Regulations.
Separate from the points routes
The 2026 final revised White Paper says intra-company transfer visas are intended to be retained in future reform. That policy statement does not convert the route into a points-based General Work or Critical Skills visa.
Applicants should treat current Immigration Act and Regulations requirements as controlling until legislation changes.
