Family Residence for Foreign Founders and Workers in Türkiye in 2026

Qualifying spouses, minor children and dependent children of eligible sponsors may apply for family residence. The official Migration Management rules distinguish sponsors who are Turkish citizens from foreign sponsors and set relationship, livelihood, insurance, address and suitability requirements. A founder's or worker's permit does not automatically grant their family members that person's working rights.

Duration and eligibility

A family residence permit can be granted for up to three years at a time, but cannot outlast the sponsor's qualifying residence permit. Where applicable the sponsor must document regular income, health coverage for the family and registered accommodation. Children and shared-custody situations can involve additional documents and consent.

Distinguish sponsor categories and work

Turquoise Card holders have a special official document for qualifying family members that can serve as residence authorization; ordinary work-permit and investor sponsors need their own correct family process. An adult relative should independently confirm whether a work permit is needed before accepting Turkish employment or operating a business.
