Digital Nomad Visa and Remote Work in Türkiye in 2026

Türkiye has an official digital-nomad visa procedure, but its published eligibility list is restricted by citizenship; residence in an eligible country does not replace qualifying citizenship. The official GoTürkiye announcement lists specified EU/EEA and European states, the UK, United States, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Eligible applicants must be 21–55, document a university degree and remote employment or contracts outside Türkiye, and show at least USD 3,000 per month or USD 36,000 per year of income.

Apply in the correct sequence

The initial digital-nomad pre-application results in a Digital Nomad Identification Certificate. The certificate is not itself a visa, work permit or residence card: the next step is the Turkish consulate or designated visa centre. Confirm passport validity, approved activities and the final visa's duration against the live consular instructions.

Distinguish remote work from local operations

The remote-work programme does not automatically authorize employment by a Turkish company, locally serving clients or personally operating a Turkish workplace. A foreign founder providing services in Türkiye needs to check the business-owner permit or independent permit. Do not assume a tax holiday, permanent residence or family working rights from the programme.
