Singapore Global Investor Programme in 2026

The Global Investor Programme (GIP) is administered by Singapore's Economic Development Board. It is a permanent-residence programme for eligible global investors with substantial business track records and successful entrepreneurial backgrounds.

It is not a general property-purchase visa.

Investment options

EDB currently describes three investment pathways:

  • Option A: invest at least S$10 million, including paid-up capital, in a new business entity or existing business operation in Singapore.
  • Option B: invest S$25 million in a GIP-select fund.
  • Option C: establish a Singapore-based Single-Family Office with at least S$200 million assets under management, with at least S$50 million deployed and maintained in the qualifying investment categories.

The investment test is only one part of the programme. Applicant profile, business history and the detailed category criteria also matter.

Direct permanent residence framework

EDB states that GIP accords Singapore Permanent Resident status to qualifying investors. This distinguishes GIP from temporary work passes such as Employment Pass or EntrePass.

An approved-in-principle case must still complete the required investment and immigration formalities.

Current application fee

EDB states that the GIP application fee was revised to S$20,000 from 5 May 2025. ICA also charges its separate PR processing fee when instructed.

Renewal and continuing commitments

The GIP framework includes continuing economic conditions relevant to Re-Entry Permit renewal. For example, EDB's published Option A framework includes employment requirements after the initial period.

Company ownership or ordinary investment outside the GIP does not automatically create Singapore residence rights.
