Qatar Free Zones Company Immigration in Qatar — January 2025 snapshot
For founders and investors establishing an approved Qatar Free Zones (QFZ) entity, the free-zone framework provided a company immigration channel in January 2025.
What QFZ officially provided
QFZ states that foreign investors may establish qualifying free-zone entities with 100% foreign ownership. Its official FAQ says residency, work and sponsorship visas are handled through investor relations. In April 2024, QFZ and the Ministry of Interior opened a visa service office providing residence-permit issuance and renewal, work visas, employer changes and related immigration services for investors and companies.
Not a standalone startup visa
This is not evidence of an open "Qatar startup founder visa." The immigration access is tied to an approved QFZ business and its immigration allocations and procedures. A founder still needs an eligible entity and the appropriate residence/work process.
Digital nomads and freelancers
QFZ company immigration should not be marketed as a digital-nomad or open-freelancer route. It is an establishment-linked business pathway.
Compare the national Investor Residence Visa, QFC company immigration, and ordinary work residence.
