Qatar Financial Centre Company Immigration in Qatar — January 2025 snapshot
The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) operated a dedicated immigration service for licensed QFC firms before January 2025.
What the QFC channel covered
QFC's June 2024 official announcement says its Client Affairs team handled resident permits, renewals, business visas and other immigration requests for QFC clients. The August 2024 Immigration Service Guide documents business visas, work-visa/labour-approval processes and residence-permit services.
Ownership is not automatic residence
A shareholder, founder or director should not assume that forming a QFC entity by itself grants residence. The immigration process remains a separate government-facing process, and QFC's own materials distinguish corporate registration from visa and residence services.
Founder use case
For an entrepreneur whose business fits QFC activities, the QFC company can provide an operational channel for lawful work/residence processing. That is different from a standalone startup-founder visa. Qatar's dedicated Entrepreneur Residency was launched only in 2026.
