Philippines Digital Nomad Visa in 2026

Executive Order No. 86 authorizes a Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) for non-immigrant foreigners who work remotely using digital technology for clients or employers outside the Philippines.

Core conditions

EO 86 requires the applicant to be at least 18, prove remote work, show sufficient foreign-sourced income, have no criminal record, maintain health insurance for the visa period, satisfy reciprocity/Foreign Service Post conditions, and not pose a security threat.

The visa does not authorize employment by a Philippine employer. Local employment is an express incompatibility with the DNV framework and may lead to revocation.

Validity and renewal

The executive order allows a maximum stay of one year and renewal for the same period, subject to the live DFA/BI implementing requirements. Multiple-entry privileges may be granted during validity.

Not a generic self-employment visa

Independent professionals may fit only when their work is genuinely remote and their clients are outside the Philippines. The DNV should not be marketed as a blanket local freelance, self-employed, entrepreneur or company-founder permit.
