Third-Country Cross-Border Commuter Permit (G) in Liechtenstein — January 2025 snapshot

The G cross-border commuter permit allows a qualifying third-country national to take employment in Liechtenstein while remaining resident abroad.

Daily-return model

The official scope requires the worker to return to the foreign place of residence every working day. The complete application must be submitted before the planned start of employment, and the job may begin only after the permit has been issued.

Employment route only

This is not residence in Liechtenstein and is not a general permission for self-employment, startup founding, remote work or investment. A person who needs to reside in Liechtenstein should instead assess the third-country B skilled-worker route or L short-term route, subject to their stricter admission rules.
