Chad residence cards in 2026
Chad's current admission-and-stay framework is based on Decree No. 2299/PR/PM/MSPI/2025. The official June 2026 immigration circular separately identifies Joint Order No. 033/PR/PM/MFBEPCI/MSPI/2026 as fixing fees for residence cards and entry visas.
That separation matters: an e-Visa and a residence card are not the same status.
What current official material establishes
The official e-Visa portal and circular establish the digital visa process and identify the legal instruments governing admission/stay and residence-card fees. They do not present a complete public English-language residence-card manual covering every foreign-national category, every document, and every renewal scenario.
ReloTide therefore does not invent:
- an automatic permanent-residence route;
- a fixed universal qualifying period for every applicant;
- automatic renewal rights;
- a residence-by-investment category; or
- a universal family-reunification entitlement.
Residence card versus employment authorization
A residence card should not be presented as satisfying the Labour Code. Article 67 separately requires prior authorization to hire a foreign worker and visa of the employment contract by the employment-promotion authority.
Conversely, a visaed employment contract is not itself a residence card.
Residence card versus e-Visa
Since 11 May 2026 new ordinary visa applications are filed through evisa.td. That platform governs entry-visa issuance. For a person who intends to remain resident, the appropriate residence-card category and filing procedure should be confirmed with the Direction of Immigration and Emigration under the current Decree.
Public-source limitation
The government has modernized the visa channel faster than it has published a consolidated online residence-card filing guide. Applicants should verify the current category, required documents, fee, biometrics, filing location and renewal timing directly with the competent authority.
