Chad remote-worker options in 2026

The current official sources reviewed on 19 September 2026 do not publish a dedicated digital-nomad visa or remote-worker visa for Chad.

The evisa.td system is an entry-visa platform. The fact that a person can obtain an e-Visa does not, by itself, establish authorization for ongoing occupational activity performed while physically present in Chad.

Visitor or business status is not an automatic remote-work permit

ReloTide does not treat a visitor or business visa as an automatic remote-work permit. The correct analysis depends on what the person actually does, who receives the services, whether there is a Chadian employer or client, whether the activity amounts to local commercial establishment, and how long the person remains in Chad.

Foreign employer

For someone remaining employed by a foreign company, public official sources do not provide a specific “foreign-employer remote worker” immigration category. That gap should be confirmed with the immigration authority rather than filled with a tourism assumption.

Freelancers and founders

A freelancer conducting commercial activity locally may need to consider RCCM/business formalities. A founder may need company registration and sector approvals. If the relationship is local employment, Labour Code Article 67 foreign-worker rules may apply.

Each of those layers is separate from e-Visa entry and residence documentation.

What not to claim

Do not publish a dedicated digital-nomad visa, a remote-work exemption, a startup visa or automatic investor residence unless a later official legal source creates one.
