International Experience Canada in 2026

The 2026 IEC season is open. IEC gives eligible youth from partner countries and territories temporary opportunities to work and travel in Canada.

Working Holiday normally uses an open work permit. Young Professionals and International Co-op (Internship) are employer-specific categories.

Eligibility varies by citizenship: participating categories, age ranges, duration, quota and number of participations are not universal.

An IEC profile only places an eligible person in a pool. It is not a work-permit application; an invitation to apply is required first. Working Holiday can be oversubscribed, so an invitation is not guaranteed.

IEC is temporary. Later permanent residence, if available, requires a separate route such as Express Entry or PNP.
