Cambodia EB Business Extension in 2026

The EB business extension of stay is the business-oriented extension used after entry on Cambodia's ordinary E-class visa. It is not a separate entry visa.

The official CDC investing handbook describes EB as relevant to:

foreigners working in Cambodia;
foreigners wanting to start a business;
freelancers; and
spouses and children of qualifying foreigners.

The same handbook describes extension options of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months and states that E-class extensions longer than 30 days become multiple-entry permissions.

Work permit connection

The CDC handbook also states that foreigners wishing to work must apply for a work permit and foreign employment card. For longer business extensions, work-permit or business evidence becomes important.

That means an EB extension should not be presented as a substitute for labour authorization. Review the foreign work permit guide.

Founders and business owners

Someone starting a Cambodian business can use the EB framework for immigration status, but the business itself still requires appropriate incorporation, tax and licensing steps. Read business registration and investor setup.

Freelancers

The CDC handbook expressly includes freelancers in its EB description. That does not create a dedicated freelancer visa or digital-nomad exemption. A freelancer working while physically in Cambodia should also assess labour authorization and tax/business registration obligations based on the actual activity.
