Self-Employment Single Permit in Serbia

Serbia treats self-employment as an employment sub-basis that can lead to a visa D for employment or a single permit for temporary residence and work.

The government portal explains that a foreign business owner may regulate residence through self-employment after becoming a shareholder/member of a Serbian company or an entrepreneur. Ministry guidance for the single permit requires Serbian registration showing the foreign national as a founder or owner plus evidence of appropriate qualifications for the activity.

Simply forming a Serbian company does not guarantee immigration approval. This is not a generic open freelancer visa and should not be confused with the Digital Nomad basis or the separate Startup residence category.
