U.S. Investor B/5 Visa in Israel

Israel's B/5 investor permit is a real investor immigration route, but it is not universal. The official PIBA procedure defines the treaty country as the United States.

Who can qualify

The procedure covers investors who are U.S. citizens or hold a valid U.S. passport and who invest to direct, manage or develop an Israeli business venture. The investor definition includes a person with at least 50% ownership of the venture or operational control through management, directorial or other corporate means.

Investment test

The official procedure does not publish a simple fixed minimum investment amount. Instead, it requires capital resources of a significant scope, sufficient for successful operation of the venture, with the investment placing the investor at financial risk and showing an irrevocable commitment.

The business venture must comply with Israeli law, be capable of contributing economic growth and jobs, and must be an active venture rather than a merely marginal livelihood for the investor and family.

Related permit categories

The same treaty procedure defines B/51 for essential expert employees, B/52 for spouses and B/53 for children.

Investors from countries other than the United States should not assume this B/5 route applies to them.
